These action plans are deliberately designed to just give you the nuts-and-bolts of what you need to do to achieve a specific result. So we’ve kept the technical jargon & theory to a minimum and just focused on simple steps anyone can do, right now.
If you find you do want a bit more of the theory, you’ll find that in the downloadable PDF guide below… but if you’re prepared to trust us, you can just dive straight into the Action Plan!
This Action Plan is the minimum number of steps required to give you the best possible chance of listing high up in Google’s Local Search in your area.
This is based on the same process we’d used ourselves to get similar results for other photographers. So if you take my word for it and don’t second-guess what we’ve laid out, you should enjoy similar success.
That said: this is NOT an exact science and there are many variables when it comes to promoting any business, especially in an online situation, so we can’t guarantee any specific results.
Depending on where you live and the kind of photography you do, you could see very fast results, or it might take a while.
Either way, the process that follows is our guide to positioning yourself, so you might achieve the best possible results in the fastest possible time.
So what I suggest is that you complete each of the steps that follow, give it some time, and then review what’s working, what isn’t, and see what you can do to improve things.
Using This Action Plan
This should be fairly intuitive, ie. just start at the top and work your way through. I’d suggest you download the Checklist below first, and then read through the entire action plan first, making notes as you go on any sections that deal with topics that are new to you.
Then go back to the start and tick off each step as you complete it, and highlight any that you need to go back to later. In most cases you should try to set everything up completely so you don’t ever have to back-track, but sometimes it’s inevitable, so make notes as you go, so you don’t forget!

To keep things simple, we haven’t gone into a lot of detail on how to complete a lot of these steps, especially when it comes to setting up your listings.
Most of the websites will have simple and effective Set Up Wizards so you should get it 95% right if you simply follow the prompts. Once you’re done it’s then an easy matter to look over your profiles, decide which ones need a bit of a make-over, and then go looking for a tutorial online to give you a few more ideas.
For example, if you need to set up a Facebook page for your business, there’s really no simple one-size-fits-all guide to that. How you approach it will depend on you, your business, your location, your customers, how much time you want to spend on it and more.
Instead I recommend you do a few searches… you’ll find about 800 million results for ‘how to set up a Facebook page for a business‘ in Google… and find a guide that is going to meet your needs.
You should also look for some other photography business pages on Facebook and find a few examples that you like, see what features they include, the content they post and so on, to create something unique that suits your situation.
OK, lets get you started!
Make sure you’ve printed out the checklist and then make a start on Step 1.
